We have been coming to this hotel for over 30 years (since before it was purchased by Fairmont) and have always loved the deep, wide balconies. The king bed was extremely comfortable, and the trendy chaise lounge and comfortable chair and table were wonderful places to read and relax when taking an afternoon respite from the sun. We loved the Nespresso machine on the bar - new to us - and had to buy one on our return home. New built-in cupboards, with full length mirror and mirrored bar, lined one wall so plenty for space for 2 weeks of clothes. Changing the direction of the bed and the new white/tan color scheme with accent pillows made the room amazingly spacious.
We were shown to our 3rd floor room (personal request) by staff eager to show us the newly renovated accommodations. The hotel was very recently renovated in light, warm colors and is gorgeous. At the hotel, we were greeted by welcoming Royal Pavilion (Royal) staff and our drink of choice (a Rum punch, of course!). This was just what we needed after an all-day journey from the western United States.
We were not disappointed! Our trip began when we were greeted by Fairmont staff at the airport and whisked through customs to our luxury Mercedes taxi. This was a return trip to our favorite resort in Barbados for a special wedding anniversary.
